Protantrism

Protantrism exists across many phyla of living organisms. It is the possibility for a single individual to have male sexual organs while young and female sexual organs at a later stage in its life. Another way of describing the phenomena is sex reversal. The opposite of protoandrous organism is a protogynous one where the organism is first female then developes into a male.
