  • In computer language, "Protium" is a universal, symbolic programming language system, based on a systematic a priori analysis of the tasks required for computation. It is polymorphic in type with considerable character flexibility. It is pasigraphic after the fashion of John Wilkins and Charles K. Bliss, and does not favour one host natural language over another.

  • Protium is also the name of an IRC network.

  • In Medicine Protium is a commercial name for pantoprazole, a proton inhibitor drug used to control the levels of acid and/or helicobacter pylori (bacteria that can cause ulcers) in the stomach. This drug is commonly used to control the symptoms of heartburn, gastric reflux and peptic ulcers.
