Quadrangle Club

Quadrangle Club, often abbreviated to "Quad" is one of the ten eating clubs at Princeton University. Located at 33 Prospect Avenue, the club is "sign-in," which means that it permits any students to join, as opposed to other bicker (selective) clubs at Princeton.
The club was formed in 1896 in a house built on the south side of Prospect Avenue. In its early years, it changed its location several times. In 1901, it moved to the north side of "the Street," and in 1903 it moved back to the south side, where the Princeton Tower Club now stands. In 1910 it moved to a house built in 1887 for James McCosh, the eleventh president of Princeton University. In 1915, Quadrangle Club sold the McCosh house and built its own house, designed by Henry Milliken, Princeton Class of 1905 in a classic brick Georgian Revival structure. The club has existed in this building since 1916. In 1994, a club porch was added to the south facade.
Quadrangle Club became coeducational in 1970, one year after Princeton University itself began admitting women. The last eating clubs to include women did so in 1991.
In recent years, Quadrangle Club has hosted four of the biggest concerts on Princeton's campus. In May 2003 Lifehouse performed, in 2004 Quad played host to Maroon 5, in the spring of 2005 a concert featuring both Phantom Planet and The Gin Blossoms was held, and in the fall of 2005 Jurassic 5 performed. Attendance figures for Maroon 5 and subsequent concerts was over 2,700, which represents over half of Princeton's entire undergraduate population of 4,500.
Quadrangle Club members also tend to be loyal followers of the up-and-coming band known as Welbilt. The band has played at the club several times over the past few years, and it is always a good time for band members and Dranglers alike.
Former Members include Adlai Stevenson, George Shultz, Gordon Wu, Jeff Bezos, and Siddhartha Dante.

- Moosehead - The Quadrangle Club mascot, based on an actual mounted moose head which hangs in the pool room. Also the name for a certain officer position in the student management of the club.
