Quantum Explosion Dynamo

The Quantum Explosion Dynamo (QED) is an object featured in the Commander Keen computer game, in episode 5, The Armageddon Machine. It is the heart of the Omegamatic, built by Mortimer McMire and allowing the Shikadi to blow up the galaxy with a "100,000 light year diameter quantum explosion".

Unlike the elevator shaft devices, it cann't be destroyed by pogo jumping on it, rather Keen must lure one of those floating bombs over towards it and get it to blow up so the shrapnel hit it.

After destroying the QED at the end of the game, it turns out that the Omegamatic was only meant as a big distraction to keep Commander Keen from interfering with Mortimer McMire's real plans, paving the way for another series of Keen games; however, none were actually produced, as ultimately, id Software decided to move on to other projects.
