Image:RJD2.jpg RJD2 (born Ramble John Krohn on May 27 1976) is an American hip hop producer. RJD2 was born in Eugene, Oregon, and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He is signed to the Definitive Jux label and has produced tracks for many of its artists, as well as having a solo career.

Musical Career

RJD2 earned success as a DJ/producer for shortlived hip-hop collective The Megahertz, in Columbus. The Megahertz released two singles on New York label Fondle 'Em Records. His solo debut Your Face or Your Kneecaps garnered the attention of Rolling Stone magazine, and RJD2 was quickly touted as "one of the best unsigned artists".

RJD2's first formal album Deadringer was released in 2002 by Definitive Jux. Deadringer pushed RJD2 into the company of such esteemed producer/composers as DJ Shadow and Prefuse 73, and was met with critical acclaim within the hip-hop community. Several of the tracks from Deadringer were licensed for commercial advertisements and television shows.

In 2004, RJD2 released The Horror, and Since We Last Spoke.

Along with the rapper Blueprint he is one half of the group Soul Position. They have released one EP and two album. RJD2 has also participated in other collaborations with artists such as Aceyalone, Ric Ocasek, and Goapele.
