Rave Master

Template:Infobox animanga/Header Template:Infobox animanga/Anime Template:Infobox animanga/Footer Rave Master, known in Japan as RAVE(レイヴ) or Groove Adventure Rave, is an anime and manga series by Hiro Mashima. The manga, first published in Japan by Kodansha, consists of 35 volumes. The anime consists of 51 episodes, which were first broadcasted on TBS from October 13 2001 to September 28 2002 but did not conclude the story. It is possible that more episodes will be produced.

The show premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States under the title Rave Master on June 5 2004. TOKYOPOP publishes the anime and manga in English in the United States. Rave Master first aired on the Toonami programming block of Cartoon Network in North America, but was temporary transferred to Miguzi's Saturday evening slot until it resulted its part on Toonami.

The Anime and the Manga has both had success. The Manga usually sold very well in Japan, America, and other coutries. The ratings for the first season of Rave Master was good enough for the Cartoon Network to purchase the second season. In fact, one article even called Rave Master the best new Anime in America in the year 2004. However, Cartoon Network did a poor job handling the second season. They kept airing new episodes at questionable times, and sometimes there would be a few week gap inbetween new episodes.

In Japan, the ratings for Rave Master were decent, but they stopped production at episode 51 for two reasons. One, it didn't want the anime to catch up to the Manga, and the ratings weren't as high as other animes in Japan at the time. Possibly because in even the Japanese anime they cut out it down greatly.

Plot synopsis

Image:Groovecast.jpg The story begins in the year 0015 when a force known as the "Dark Bring" (Shadow Stone in the English anime) threatened the world. The current Rave Master sliced it in half with his sword, mistakenly thinking that it was destroyed. The resulting huge explosion known as the "Overdrive" destroyed one-tenth of the world. The "Holy Bring" or "Rave" was separated and the parts flew to the four corners of the world.

50 years later, Haru Glory, a teenager living on the peaceful Garage Island, is passing his time fishing. He discovers a weird creature with a small white body, dot-like eyes, and a huge drill-like nose. He names it "Shabutaro" at first, until later bumping into Shiba, (the Rave Master who attempted to destroy the Dark Bring earlier), who saw the creature and called it "Plue". Shiba explains that Plue was actually his companion and also a Rave warrior.

Soon, Feber, a member of Demon Card ("Shadow Guard" in the English anime), an organization that is attempting use the Dark Bring to take over the world, finds Shiba and demands that he hand over the Rave. Shiba refuses and tries to retaliate by using the Rave's power. It fails and Shiba is shot by Feber's giant arm cannon. Shiba gives Haru the Rave and tells him to run away. Haru refuses and with Rave in his hand he punches the Demon Card member, causing an explosion. Shiba is shocked and decides Haru is actually the Rave Master's successor. Haru decides to search for the other pieces of Rave to defeat the Dark Bring which has scattered from the original stone for the past 50 years. Haru confronts many other warriors with Dark Bring and destroys them, collecting Rave Stones at the same time.

Ten Commandments

In Rave Master, The Ten Commandments Sword (The Decaforce Sword in the English anime, or "TCM" for short), is a huge sword originally owned by Shiba (or Siva), the first generation Rave Master; it was given to Haru Glory when he was chosen by the Rave to become the 2nd Generation Rave Master. The Ten Commandments was made with a special slot to hold the Rave, or the "Holy Bring/stone". It was broken once after Haru defeated Shuda and its age, but reforged by its original maker, blacksmith Galein Musica. The Ten Commandments is said to have ten forms including its original state when attached with the Rave.

Eisenmeteor
An ordinary iron sword and the normal form it is usually found in. It has the ability to diffuse magic and is useful in fights due to its weight and size. (this ability proved instrumental in battling Sieg Hart) Why is there a normal sword among the ten forms? Well, even a rave master would get tired of using it if all the forms were special!
Explosion Blade
A sword with no proper cutting edge but creates a powerful explosion on contact with the enemy. Haru's first sword gained from Rave and his most commonly used. However, the shock of the impact is so powerful, that if Haru used it in succession too much, it could hurt or possibly kill him.
Silfarion, the sonic sword
This sword causes the Rave Master to become extremely light, granting great speed and the ability to create blades of air for long ranged attacks. The Sifarion can also be used with the Explosion to create a special attack named "Bombing Dive" ("Twelve Wings of The Explosive Dragon") which fires explosive blades at the enemy. To make up for its advantages, the Sifarion is relatively weak as a mêlée weapon and is no more than a normal sword for attacking.
Runesave, the sealing sword
This sword cannot cut anything physical but can cut and seal things without a tangible form like lightning, fire and smoke. It is used by Haru to seal Elie's Etherion.
Blue Crimson, the twin dragon sword
the Ten Commandments splits into two blades with one having the properties of fire and the other having the properties of ice.
Melforce, the vacuum sword
The sword of air, this form allows the user to fire powerful bursts of air at the enemy to blow them away and paralyzes them.
Gravity Core
Incredibly destructive sword that can cut very hard things. However, the tradeoff is that it's extremely heavy and requires great strength to use. Although more powerful than Explosion, it's a very difficult blade to use.
Million Suns, the solar blade
Meaning "the force of a million suns." It would be scary if it were that powerful. Haru said that it wasn't strictly for defeating Dark affinity while telling Doryu that it wasn't a fight between different affinities. However, this Light affinity sword has more than enough power to smash Dark affinity enemies. This sword can be used against any other affinity as well.
Sacrifar
The second most powerful of all the forms so far, the Sacrifar provides the user with great power but in exchange the user will be consumed by the sword and eventually lose himself. Haru used this sword during his first battle with Lucia in the Project DR story arc, and Practically tore him to pieces.
Ravelet
The most powerful form of the TCM sword. When Musica discovers that a tenth form of the TCM was never made, he takes it on himself to create one, using a piece of his Silver and some tiring blacksmith skills. Ravelet has the power to dispel evil, and becomes the default sword, it can also use all the powers of the other forms in one sword. This power is capable of being greater than Elie's ethieron.

Cast

Rave Warriors

The Rave Warriors are the Main Characters of the Rave Master Anime/Manga Series. Image:Haru.jpg*Haru Glory: The current Rave Master. He lives with his sister, Cattleya Glory on Garage Island. A teenage boy who believes in justice and peace, yet doesn't have much interest in adventuring, his destiny takes a turn when Shiba gives him the Rave stone, passing on the powers of the Rave Master. When he realises the true threat that Demon Card are to the world, he sets off to find the pieces of Rave to restore peace to the world. Image:Elie.jpg*Elie: A girl with no memories, she first met Haru at the dog races where she was betting on Plue. She ends up joining them after Haru saves her. She fought with Tonfa.-style guns that have an explosive effect. But Elie soon learns her true name is Experiment #3173 (notice that 3173 in block numbers backwards is ELIE!), and that she was modeled after Resha Valentine, the genius girl who supposedly gave her life using the power of Etherion in her to create the Rave and the Ravestones. (The Rave's name is a derivative of her name; Resha Valentine.) Elie originally possessed Etherion, but since she can't control it, it was sealed by Haru to prevent it from destroying the world. Later in the series (both in the anime and manga), Sieg Hart finds that Elie is not the result of an Experiment and that the her name ELIE and 3173 are actually map coordinates.
In Volume 31, it is revealed that Elie actually is Resha. Contrary to history, Resha did not die of Etherion poisoning, instead, her death was staged in order to preserve her power to combat the future coming of Etherion 50 years later. This plan was unknown to everyone but the king of Symphonia, Haru's grandfather, who went by the name of Kaim. Elie was in a magic-induced sleep preserving her youth until a year before Rave Master began, waking when Sieg destroyed the lab. Image:Musica.jpg*Hamrio Musica (Hedara Musica in the English dub): The leader of a band of infamous thieves known as the Silver-Rhythm gang. He ownes and pilots a flying ship called the Advent. Musica is a "Silverclaimer", able to manipulate anything silver into any form he wants it to be. The skull necklace he wears, called Silver, gives him this ability. He can reform Silver into almost any kind of weapon or tool he needs. He became Haru's good and strongest friend, helping him in his search for the Rave Stones, while searching for the Silver Ray. Musica eventually finds the Silver Ray (which was changed to 'River Saly' by the Onigami) and finds Ogre, a Goldclaimer, and the leader of the Onigami, with Reina. Ogre discovers that R-E-I-N-A was the five character password to activate the Silver Ray, and he did, putting the whole continent in danger. Musica and Reina had to set aside their differences and the fact that they were enemies to defeat him. Since he is a Goldclaimer, Silver isn't something that would really work on him, added to the fact that his piece of Sinclaire - "Last Physics" makes any physical assault weapon useless. Musica and Reina use the ultimate Silverclaimer magic, Silver Bonds, to destroy Ogre, but they had to trust each other. Silver Bonds wasn't physical, so it literally destroyed Ogre. But there was still the problem of the Silver Ray. It was going to activate shortly after, and the both of them wanted to use Silver Bonds again to destroy it. Reina valued Musica's life more than hers, because she finally had something that she could love, and pushed him off the Silver Ray into the ocean. Reina used silver magic to talk to him, and that they could perform it in this way. Musica didn't want her to, but she did so anyway. Silver Bonds destroyed the Silver Ray's core, and it exploded in the air, killing Reina. Finally, a weapon made from the Silver Ray, the sacred spear, Silver Ray, which had Reina and her father's souls, and her Dark Bring, "White Kiss" fell, and Reina's soul whispered to him that she loved him. Musica said that she should lend all of her power to this, and vowed that he was going to fight Darkness with it for her. Her White Kiss Dark Bring becomes fused to Musica's silver necklace. It is Musica who takes it upon himself to forge the final form of the Ten Commandments Sword, Ravelet Image:Plue2.jpg*Plue: The strange creature that Haru discovered, Plue is the Rave Bearer, and is able to sense the presence of the other Rave Stones.Plue's nose also has the ability to destroy dark brings. He's quite fond of sweets - especially lollipops. But he hates pudding. Image:GriffR.jpg*Griffon Kato: Called Griff by his friends, he mostly praises Plue. The reason was some months before he met Haru, Plue ended up on Griff's island home, when it was under attack by the Puddingheads (which is why Plue has a strange dislike of pudding). Plue defeated the villains in what seemed a noble sacrifice. Griff declared himself as Plue's follower as a result. He is also very perverted (he likes to see Elie naked the most). There is one episode where Elie, Griff, and Plue were running away from the Oracion Six. Griff was left behind and about to be attacked when Elie jumped in the way, breaking her arm in the process. She tells Griff to run. Just then, Julius, an Oracion Six member, grabs her by her hair and proceeds to kill her when Griff, overcome with guilt, sacrifices himself by jumping into the air and getting in the way of the sword slash. His "death" causes Elie to release her powers. But it turns out that Griff didn't die and was instead split into two individuals, the first calling himself "Griffinka" and the second calling himself "To" (an obvious name split). He then proceeds to join back together into his original form,as "Griffin Kato".

  • Let: A Dragonrace, a race of dragon people who reside in Makai, the demon dimension. When he was first inroduced, he was an evil warrior who worked for the Demon Card as a guardian for King. He only wanted to fight until Haru defeated him and showed him the path of justice. Let vowed revenge against Jegan, whom he believed had killed his girlfriend Julia, and joined the Demonic Guard to improve his strength as well as to someday extract his revenge. After meeting with Haru and fighting him, Let was convinced that he should join him so that he may truly become strong. Once the group crash landed upon the barren wasteland of Symphonia, they were attacked by the Oricon Sei. The entire group battles a different member, and Let confronts Jegan. Realizing he cannot defeat him without having become a man, Let forces himself through the Dragonrace's rite-of-passage. After nearly failing, Let achieves his human appearance, and his powers are increased greatly. They are not enough, though, and Let succumbs to Jegan's Dark Bring, "Ygdrassil". Later on, Jegan launches his own assault, and he and Let battle yet again. The two fight fiercely, Jegan and Let finally falling from the backs of the dragons into the ocean. A bit of elixer Let had saved from their earlier encounter with a witch doctor finds its way to Julia, who had been revealed as having failed her rite-of-passage and becoming a full dragon. When Let awakens, he finds himself upon land and greeted by none other than Julia.
  • Ruby (sentinoid): A pink penguin, who owns a massive floating casino. Ruby likes to use his wealth to buy rare treasures. When he learns Doryu is using his cash for evil ends, he's almost killed by Doryu, but Haru saves him, and he decides to join his side. During Haru's first fight against Doryu, Ruby discovers that the "bell" that he's been carrying is actually the magical sword that Master Dalmatian, a member of the Knights of the Blue Sky wielded.
  • Julia of Dragon Race: Let's girlfriend, a feisty blond who's loud, rowdy, and not above beating people up to get her way, a polar opposite to the cool and calm Let. Despite being rather thin, her martial arts skills and strength are just as great as Let's. She has a habit of drawing upon his face when he is sleeping.
  • Belnika: A young girl who was experimented on to wield and absorb magic, such as Aetherion. She is used as a tool for the evil Hardner, believing she is helping him save the world. Haru convinces her of the truth, and she joins his side.
  • Shuda (Shūda): Former member of the Oracion Six, fought Haru and lost his hand. Is now on Haru's side (of sorts) Apparently, after Haru defeated him in Volume 5, it opened his eyes, and he learned an important lesson.
  • Jeid: one of the four main generals in the Imperial Army and the older brother of Jegan. He convinces Jegan to live the right way, and is distraught when the village they inhabit is destroyed and Jegan is killed protecting the woman who saved him after he and Let's fight. With that, he resolves to destroy Demon Card.
  • Nagisa:

Recurring Rave Warriors

Recurring Rave Warriors: These are characters that join forces with the regular Rave Warriors at certain times, and provide them with a great deal of help.

  • The Silver Rhythm Gang: This is Musica's gang and the crew of the Advent. They are a motley crew of thieves and brigands, but are nonetheless loyal to Musica and his friends. Though much of their wealth was ill-gotten, it did enable them to buy a state-of-the-art air ship, the Silver Knights. Now, if only they could figure out how to make it stop when they want. They occationally join and help out Haru's group.
    • Hebi (The tattoo on his head says "Snake"): Musica's right-hand man and second in command of the Silver-Rhythm. He also knows a lot about animals. He even seems to know some things about Plue when Haru asked him what Plue was; however, Hebi just turned away.
  • Shiba: The previous and first Rave Master.
  • Sieg Hart: A Defender of Time from Mildea. Elemental Master. Was originally out to kill Elie, but eventually joined Haru on his quest. He was originally working with Demon Card (his objective to kill King) but left them. He later returns to save Haru and the others when they are attacked by the Oracion Six, thus showing that he has become a powerful magician. On returning to Mildea, he fights Haja but fails to kill him. Sieg also helps Elie find her memory late in Vol.30-31 of the manga but has to remain in the past where he guards Resha's grave for fifty years. He seems to be in love with Elie, but chooses not to tell her in the end.

The rune over his eye is a mark of his unusual fate.

Knights of the Blue Sky (Knights of the Azure Sky)

  • Knights of the Blue Sky (Knights of the Azure Sky): The knights who protect the rave stones
    • Alpine Spaniel: A heroic knight of the kingdom of Symphonia who becomes one of the guardians of Rave. Unlike the others, he survived the war and the Overdrive. He kept the other knights' soul and transforms them into animals to guard the Rave pieces.
    • Clea Maltese: A dark-skinned beauty from Luka Continent. She was one of the Four Knights of the Blue Sky, and after death she turned into a bird-like being. She gave Haru the Rave of Combat. Haru never got to talk to her directly.
    • Deerhound: A huge brute of a warrior who seems to laugh at everything. After death he transformed into a bear. He gave Haru the Rave of Knowledge.
    • Master Dalmatian: A master tactician and perhaps the most level-headed of the Four Knights of Blue Sky. After death he transformed into a walrus-like being.

Demon Card (Shadow Guard)

In the Japanese version, the group was to be called the "Demon Guard", but a misspelling of the banner renamed them "Demon Card". The most powerful members use the Dark Bring (Shadow Stones in the English anime).

  • King/Gale Raregroove: An old friend of Gale Glory, the two set up Demon Card. But soon after Glory left, Rareglove fell under the Dark Brings' power and turned the Demon Card into a terrorist group. Glory went to his old friend who used to be his subordinate when he was in the army to help him arrest King. His "friend" betrayed him and killed King's family, that was when King devised the ultimate revenge: Killing Glory's wife and placing into his ex-friend's body the item that would become the ultimate Dark Bring, the End of the World ('End of Earth') which would cause another Overdrive. King would later bring Gale out into the open so that Enclaim would complete the Dark Bring. King wielded a parody of the Ten Powers sword as his own weapon, a Dark Bring called "Decalogue" and used two of his other four Dark Brings, Black Zenith, withthe power to fire a black hole that ate through matter, and Gate, which releases the palace guardians, to fight the Glories. But when Haru obtained the Rave of Combat and destroyed the villain’s weapon, King sacrificed his own humanity by surrendering his very being to another of his Dark Bring, Monster Prison, which fused unto his chest as his new source of life. But despite his defeat, King's true intention was to do what he never was able to do before: destroy the organization he created by using his last Dark Bring, Warp Gate, to teleport the unstable new ultimate Dark Bring into the base. With that done, he destroyed Monster-Prison to kill himself, and made his final peace with Gale before succumbing to death.
  • Oracion Six (The Top 6 generals in the Shadow Guard) (Oracion Seis in Japanese):
    • Shuda (Shūda): Former member of the Oracion Six, fought Haru and lost his hand. Is now on Haru's side (of sorts). His Dark Bring, Geo Blast, allowed him to create an enormous explosion wherever he pleased. As of Volume 5, he is no longer a Demon Card member.
    • Deep Snow: He was a spy for King. He eventually worked his way up to become a General in the Empire. Deep Snow was able to find out many secrets about the empire, and he was able to help the Demon Card turn the Empire into ruins. Deep Snow was also able to get many of the soldiers to become part of the Demon Guard as well. He has enourmous powers, and Lucia choose him to become the replacement for Shuda. In Volume 13, he was officially appointed the new member of the Oracion Six. However, Deep Snow is also a coward because he tried to kill Haru and his friends while they were injured because of their fight with Jegan's dragons. In the end of Volume 19, Shuda came to Haru's resue and started a fight with Deep Snow.
    • Reina: A Silver Claimer like Musica; her Dark Bring is called White Kiss and it grants her the power of creation. She mainly uses that power to turn oxygen atoms into pieces of crystal which can cut through the skin. Reina often uses it to form silver for her attacks. She also searches for the Silver Ray. (Note: Her name comes from the Spanish word "reina", which means "queen".) As of volume 16, she is deceased.
    • Jegan: He owns a wild dragon named Julia, whose intimate love he once vied for some time earlier. Because of it, he bears a wicked grudge against Let, and vice-versa, because he too had special feeling for Julia before she became a wild dragon because of her failure in her trial. He is a member of the Dragon Race, and the younger brother of the Imperial General Jeid. He uses the Dark Bring Yggdrasil, which allows him to control Julia. In Volume 19, he was defeated by Let, and he was killed by Haja's master because of his failure to kill the Rave Master and his friends.
    • Berial: A demon lord, he uses the Dark Bring The Earth. A four-eyed demonic bat named Boi Boi often sits on his shoulder
    • Julius: He fights with the ice Dark Bring Armure D'Etoile, which means star armour in French. He has an unhealthy obsession with his "beauty".
    • Haja: also known as Haja the Infinite, he is considered to be the second strongest High Mage in the world.
  • Lucia Raregroove: The "Blonde Demon", Dark Bring Master. The son of King who was originally thought to have been dead. But in reality, was kept in a high-security prison until he escaped. He possesses "Dark Mother", which is a part of "Sinclaire" the most powerful of the Dark Bring. The one that caused the Overdrive 50 years prior to try and kill Shiba. In Volumes 12 and 13, he became the new King of the Demon Card (Shadow Guard). He restored the Demon Card to its original glory, and he made it even stronger than ever before. He also acquired Decalogue sword (known to has symmetrical change as Decaforce has). In Volume 18, he started Project DR (Dark Rendevous) which combined the several other organizations and powerful warriors, such as the Blue Guardians, to the Demon Card. He plans to use his new found power to destroy Haru. Unfortunately, for him, he was defeated by Haru when Haru used the Sacrifar. He would have been killed if it weren't for Plue. How will the next encounter between Lucia and Haru be?

Guardians of the Gate

These five warriors from others dimensions are brought together by one of King's Dark Brings, the Gate. They are all powerful. They only oppose a threat to Haru and his friends in Volume 8. All of their names, according to the author, sound like something in real life if you add "ma" to the beginning of the name.

    • Ltiangle: The leader and most powerful of the guardians, his Dark Bring is Transperent. It allows him to turn objects, himself included, invisible. This includes his weapons and some of the landscape around his opponent. His weapon is probably some kind of long blade (You can't tell what is is because it's invisible). He also has a power that is not connected to his Dark Bring, the ability to seal his opponents in the landscape of their memories while the guardians fight them. For instance, when Haru was in the psychic prison, he was on the shores of Garage Island. Ltiangle was defeated and killed by Musica. "ma"ltiangle (multiangle)
    • Let: He was the second most powerful Palace Guardian, but he was defeated by Haru. After Haru proved to Let that there is more to living and fighting than life and death, Let began to change his ways. He eventually became Haru's friend. In Volume 10, Let sort of suggests that he became stronger than Altiangle because he challengles Musica, and he said that his power and skills have greatly improved. "ma"let (mallet)
    • Rionette: He is really tall, has a really long neck, and can only speak in rhyme. His Dark Bring is Shadow Doll. He can teleport himself from where he's standing to wherever your shadow is. Also, when he stands on your shadow, you can't move. He is easily distracted with random tricks, so defeating him wasn't teribly hard. He was defeaten by Plue, Griff, Salasido, Remmy, and Elie. "marionette" (marionette)
    • Ron Glace: He is a huge, really not smart, suit of armour that speaks with bad grammar. He is actually the weakest member of the Palace Guardians. He carries a huge spear which he uses as a medium for his Dark Bring, Spikes. Whenever his spear plows into the ground, metal spikes come out of the ground. He was defeaten by Musica and Salasido. "ma" (maron)
    • Racas: This guy has hair in the shape of a horseshoe and carries two maracas. He can't help dancing and his Dark Bring, Rhythem Counter, allows him to reflect an attack back that is a few times stronger. He can also read people's mind. After Haru used the Rune Save to clear his mind, Haru was able to defeat and kill Racas. "ma"racas (maracas)

Doryu Ghost Squad ( Doryu Commandos)

When the Demon Card disbanded, several smaller groups emerged to take the top spot in the underworld. One of the three most prominent was the Doryu Ghost Squad. They become Haru's new nemesis while on his way to Symphonia.

  • Pumpkin Doryu: The founder of the Ghost Squad and holder of its top position. He holds one of the five True Dark Brings, pieces of Sinclaire itself with powers greater than the ordinary DarkBring. His Dark Bring Vampire gives him complete control over the forces of gravity and repulsion which lets him, at the most extreme, pull physical matter into darkness (which he did to Musica). He first fought Haru in Volume 15, and he nearly killed Haru with the twilight sword. The second time they fought in Volume 17, Haru seemed to have gained some new strength (he might have gotten stronger as a result to losing the first match), and he destroyed the twilight sword and the Jet Black sword. Haru also received some help from his friends, but it ended up being a one on one fight between Haru and Doryu. Haru was able to overcome the pain of his earlier injuries, destroyed Doryu's most powerful spell (which would have killed Haru and all of his friends), broke through the Vampire's power of repulsion, and he killed Doryu with the Million Suns. After this point, Haru was stronger than Doryu. Haru almost died himself after he used all his power to defeat Doryu, but he was saved by Dalmatian in Volume 18.
  • Franken Billy: A Frankenstein-esque member of the Doryu Ghost Squad. He wields a Dark Bring called Giant which allows him to enlarge his arms at will. Haru gave Franken Billy quite a beating in Volume 10, but their fight was interrupted by the Jiggle Butt Gang. Musica fought Franken Billy in Volume 15, and Musica defeated Billy with ease.
  • Lilith: A presumably young woman with a slight resemblance to Medusa. Her Dark Bring North Wind enables her to manipulate, as well as become physically one with, the wind. It also allows her to breathe in and move freely through large bodies of water. She was defeated by Celia in Volume 15, but she was later killed by Doryu in Volume 17.
  • Mummy: A corrupt scientist with an affinity for werewolves, he created a breed of bipedal wolves with three eyes and machine guns imbued into their right arms. Mummy also turned the defeated Musica into a powerful lycanthropic creature and sent the beast against the Rave warriors, but Haru returned Musica to his normal state. Mummy also possessed a reversal Dark Bring, Bone Knight (a Dark Bring that throws away the wielder's soul to transform them, similar to King's Monster Prison). He appears to have been classmates with Alice, the medicine man, who domineered over Mummy. After Haru save Musica from dying, Musica destroyed Mummy's body in Volume 15.
  • Cookie: He was executed by the Empire fifthteen years ago because of his crimes. Doryu used the power of Necromancy (magic to control the dead) and brought Cookie back as a zombie. His Dark Bring, All Crush, allowed him to atomatically destroy anything that he touches or what touches him. Haru was able to use the power of Mel Force to throw Cookie away. When Cookie hit the wall of Doryu's airship, the wall broke down, and Cookie fell off the airship. When sun's rays touched him, he was completely eliminated.

Other Rave Warrior Allies

Other Rave Warrior Allies- Warriors that help out Haru and his friends, but they don't appear as much as the recurring allies.

  • Gale Glory: Haru's father, he and King set up the Demon Card (Shadow Guard in the English Dub) to protect the people. But Gale left when he was not fond of the direction the organization was going. He tried to stop King, but it ended horribly with King's family slaughtered. Before the Ultimate Shadow Stone was placed inside his body, Gale felt the fury of his former friend's rage when his face was scarred and his wife killed before his eyes. He later reappeared and helped his son defeat King, and eventually sacrificed his life to save Haru for the tower's collapse.
  • Cattleya Glory: Haru's sister. She is reluctant to let Haru leave Garage Island. She is the self-proclaimed "Queen of "Karaoke".
  • Nakajima: A strange lifeform that lives stuck to the outside wall of Cattleya and Haru's house. He looks like a flower, but claims that the petal-looking things ringing his round face are feathers. His favorite (and perhaps only) hobby is "golling".
  • Sakura Glory: Haru's mother and Gale's wife, she was killed by King as part of his revenge against her husband.
  • Galein Musica: Musica's grandfather and the blacksmith who created the Ten Powers Sword. When Galein finished creating the sword he was unable to complete the tenth form, which is why Shiba was unable to defeat the DarkBring Sinclaire.
  • Jiggle Butt Gang (Big Butt Bandits in English dub): Three hopeless robbers who have absolutely no talent in robbing, they extremely big booties which they jiggle when excited. Their leader, named Wonderful Gocche, has an affinity with Plue.
  • Alice the elixer maker: A medicine man met by Haru's gang during the journey to Southernberg island. He says "munya" a lot. Although simple-minded in appearance, he is over five hundred years old and 'wields' a giant syringe, containing various fluids, of which switched the souls of Haru, Elie, Musica and Plue around, causing confusion. Alice later cured Elie's broken arm.
  • Saga Pendragon: A prophet of Acapella Island, belonging to Nakajima's race. His poi was stolen by a tiny dandelion named "Dee Dee". His maid, Sonia, knows a lot about flowers.

Lesser Enemies

These are enemies that aren't as significant to Haru and his friends.

Georco-President of the dog racing track in Hip Hop Town, Georco posseses the Dark Bring Smoke Bay, enabling him to turn his body into smoke, and create a cloud of suffocating, poisonous gas. Haru was almost defeated byhim in volume 2, but he was much weaker then, and Georco got his butt kicked anyway.

Lance-Commander of a unit of Demon Card soldiers, he wields the Beast Sword, forged by Galein Musica. It allows him to create illusions at his will. Somewhat of a psychopath, he captured Elie and injured Hamrio Musica in volume 2, and was defeated by Haru in Volume 3.

Blanche-

Feber-Probably the weakest enemy ever mentioned by his name. He was the first Demon Card soldier Haru fought. He badly injured Shiba with a bazooka in Volume 1, but Haru punched him with the Rave and defeated him. Shuda later gave him the dark bring Full Metal, which enabled him to turn his skin into metal. He went after Haru again, and was again defeated with the Explosion form of Ten Commandments. It is possible Gemma later hired him in Cafe Tsubomi.

Gathron-

The World

In the Song Continent where Haru and his companions begin their adventures, the towns and cities are named after styles of music. Punk street and Ska are examples.

Haru's belt buckle says "DnB" which could be a loose translation of "RnB", or can possibly be referring to the breakbeat style known as "drum n bass"(there is a city by this name in the Song Continent).

Also, Haru's home is Garage Island and the quote "All good music starts in the garage" (as quoted by Frank Zappa) is a fun little side note.

Musica is a pretty obvious example of using music in the anime. Also, Symphonia could be a reference to symphonys. There is the kingdom of Raregroove, and a couple of other references to music, but most of it is confined to the Song Continent.

The other continents include the Luka Continent, the location of the city of Rabbarier and Din Tower. Southernberg, whose shallow oceans confine the mermaid village of Mildesta, and the location of the Haru's battles with Doryu, and Musica and Reina's battle with Ogre. There is also the Iima continent, the location of the final Rave Stone.

There seems to be no set time period for Haru's world, some of the technology seems highly advanced, but there seems to be no shortage of magic, mideval weapons, and various mythological references.

Video games

There are two Video games based on Rave Master. One of them is Rave Master for the Nintendo GameCube. The other is Rave Master: Special Attack Force! for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Both games are Rated T for Teen by the North American ESRB.
