Reunion Arena is an indoor arena in the Reunion district of downtown Dallas, Texas. Completed in 1980 at a cost of US$27 million, the arena held 18,042 for basketball and 16,924 for ice hockey. It was named for the early mid-nineteenth century commune, La Reunion. The arena was the home of the Dallas Mavericks from 1980-2001 and the Dallas Stars from 1993-2001. Both teams moved to the American Airlines Center in 2001.
The venue also hosted the 1986 NCAA men's basketball Final Four and NBA All-Star Game. In 2000 it hosted WWF Fully Loaded.
The arena is currently home to the MISL Dallas Sidekicks, but the MISL has said that the club will be inactive for the 2005 season. The arena also continues to host numerous concerts and other events. The arena features 30,000 ft² of arena floor space, making it ideal for a number of events, including many high school graduations.
Reunion Arena (as of September 2005) was being used as a shelter for evacuees of Hurricane Katrina.
Reunion Arena has also been the home of the Big 12 Conference Women's Post-season Basketball Tournament in 2003, 2004 and most recently, 2006.
