Roanoke

The Colony of Roanoke was the first English colony in the New World, founded at Roanoke Island.

Roanoke is also the name of several places in the United States:

• Roanoke, Virginia (major city)
• Roanoke, Illinois
• Roanoke, Indiana
• Roanoke, Texas
• Roanoke, Alabama

There is also a Roanoke River which flows through the U.S. states of Virginia and North Carolina.
