Rob Roy cocktail
From Free net encyclopedia
Template:Wikibookschapter A Rob Roy is a cocktail with a certain structural similarity to a Manhattan and also to the ubiquitous Martini. The drink is named for the Scottish folk hero Robert Roy MacGregor.
The Manhattan is made with bourbon whiskey and sweet vermouth, while the Rob Roy is made with Scotch whisky and sweet vermouth.
Varients of the drink include the Dry Rob Roy, which is made with dry vermouth and the Perfect Rob Roy, which is made with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth. Many versions of the Rob Roy also include Angostura Bitters.
