Rustam Minnikhanov

Rustam Minnikhanov (Tatar: Miñnexanov Röstäm Nurğäli ulı, Russian: Рустам Нургалиевич Минниханов) (b. 1957), is a Tatarstan statesman and the current Prime Minister of Tatarstan.
Biography
Rustam Minnikhanov was born on March 1, 1957 in the Yaña Arış village of Rybnoslobodsky District in Tatar ASSR.
Graduated from Kazan Agricultural Institute as mechanical engineer and also from Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade as commodity expert.
Doctor of economic sciences.
After graduating from the institute in 1978, he started his labor career as engineer in Sabinsky District Association of "Selkhoztekhnika". Then he worked in this district as a Senior Engineer and Chief Power Engineer in a state timber industry enterprise, Deputy Chairman of District Consumer Society Board.
In 1985–1993 he worked in Arsky District as Chairman of the District Consumer Society Board, Chairman of the Executive Committee of People`s Deputies District Council, First Deputy Head of District Administration.
In 1993, he was appointed Head of Vysokogorsky District Administration.
Since November 1996 he worked as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Since July 10 1998 until the present time: Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan.
