Star Plus is a Hindi language television channel in India. In its earlier avatar it used to be an English channel, which was later started beaming 24 hour Hindi programming to cater to a wider audience. A new channel called Star World was introduced to take up the space of English Language programming
Star Plus includes many popular Indian dramas such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasauti Zindagi Ki, and the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, known in India as Kaun Banega Crorepati, which is presented by the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
STAR PLUS is India’s No. 1 cable channel for 5 years running (as of 2005). The channel reaches more than 50 million viewers every week and boasts 45 out of the top 50 shows on Indian cable and satellite television.Template:India-econ-stub
