They are terrestrial feeders always found near water. Two of the species, the waterthrushes, are very similar; they are
- Louisiana Waterthrush, Seiurus motacilla
- Northern Waterthrush, Seiurus noveboracensis
The third member of the Seiurus genus is the
- Ovenbird, Seiurus aurocapillus.
