Seven-Sided Backgammon

From Free net encyclopedia

The original reference to seven-sided backgammon appears to be from the "Alfonso manuscript" as compiled in the 13th century.

Seven players sat around a seven-sided board (with astrological significance) and threw a seven-sided die. Contemporary dice at the time had their pips on the faces instead of the edges of the die.
