Sextasy
From Free net encyclopedia
Sextasy is a drug mixture of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as Ecstasy, and a prescription drug such as sildenafil citrate (Viagra), which is a PDE5 inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction. Sextasy can be two separate tablets, one ecstasy and one Viagra, taken orally, it can be in the form of a powder that can be snorted through the nose, or can be mixed into a capsule. Sextasy is still a fairly new drug mixture that has become popular within the last six years. The main purpose of the mixture is that one drug supplements the drawbacks of the other.
Sextasy is also known as trail mix, cocktail pills, and sometimes referred to as hammer heading.

History
Ecstasy, one of the components of sextasy, gained a major popularity in the mid nineties and then use was reported to have a major decline in the later nineties. It became the most popular party drug and was impossible to miss in the rave scenes. Viagra was the first successful oral medication for erectile dysfunction (ED). Pfizer Inc. introduced this new wonder pill in 1998. The pill is meant for men who are healthy enough for sex, but have trouble getting an erection. When Viagra was first introduced there were a few reports of elderly men dying directly after sex. Ecstasy has also claimed lives. Sextasy gained its popularity in the early two thousands, which brought back the use of ecstasy. Ecstasy has been most popular in Europe and Australia and is also where sextasy first became popular. Sextasy soon gained popularity in America and Canada. In Canada it is easy to get prescription drugs, which attributed to the Canadian sextasy pandemic.
Sextasy is most popular among homosexual men who attend raves. At gay raves and parties use of the drug mixture has become a normal practice. It is not uncommon for hospitals in areas with a large gay male population to receive patients in the emergency room with painful erections (priapism) and headaches caused by sextasy. As the popularity of sextasy grew more straight men started experimenting with the drug. Now popularity of the drug with heterosexuals is beginning to level out with homosexual users.
Rationale behind combination
The reason sextasy is popular is because it makes up for the negative sexual effect on a male's body. Ecstasy, like many other drugs and alcohol, makes it difficult to get an erection; Viagra helps to reverse these effects. Ecstasy is a drug used to stimulate your senses making touching more pleasurable and in turn make sex more enjoyable and vivid. Ecstasy is a stimulant that gives the user energy which helps them dance and engage in sex, with the use of an ED drug, for extended amounts of time with a distortion of reality. Ecstasy was originally thought to be harmless so the user felt safe from any severe health risk. Sextasy was thought to be a wonderful idea among the ravers already using ecstasy.
Risks
Using MDMA alone poses a potential threat to physical health and changes the user's perception of reality. Effects last four to six hours and may include confusion, depression, anxiety, insomnia, drug craving, and paranoia. Physical effects include muscle tension, jaw clenching, nausea, nystagmus (eye wiggling), tremors, increased heart rate, and chills. Due to increases in heart rate and blood pressure, a user's body temperature may effectively rise and lead to dehydration, hyperthermia, and possible seizures. This effect on body temperature is more likely to occur in a situation where the user is engaged in intense physical activity, however, Hyperthermia may cause vital organs to fail, resulting in death. Its positive effects, which are valued by users of the drug include euphoria, heightened senses, reduced inhibition, and feelings of empathy.
When MDMA is added to an erectile aid (such as a PDE5 inhibitor), it greatly increases heart and circulatory risks such as heart attack. Since PDE5 inhibitors work by vasodilation, headaches are a common side effect of PDE5 inhibitors alone. The combination of the two can also cause priapism, an erection that lasts more than four hours, which is a risk taken when any ED medication is used. Priapism is painful and can cause lasting damage to the penis. People using sextasy are also more likely to engage in unprotected sex with more partners due to the disorientation and skewed reality they experience; unprotected sex may lead to the spread sexually-transmitted infections, some of which are potentially fatal if left undiagnosed and treated. Additionally, other unknown and possibly dangerous chemicals or drugs may be present in the MDMA itself or in a mixture of the MDMA and the erectile aid, which may all be in the form of tablets, capsules, or loose powder.
