Solange Knowles

Solange Piaget Knowles-Smith (born June 24, 1986 in Houston, Texas) is an American actress, R&B singer and songwriter. She is the younger sister of popular singer and Destiny's Child member Beyoncé Knowles. She is managed by her father, Matthew Knowles, who also manages Destiny's Child. Her mother is of Creole descent and father of African American ancestry.

In 2002, Knowles released her debut single, "Feelin' You", from her debut album, Solo Star, which was released in January 2003. The album debuted in the top 50 of the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart.

Solange also appeared on the Destiny's Child holiday album "8 Days of Christmas", (released in 2001), singing back up vocals on "Little Drummer Boy".

On February 27, 2004, at the age of 17 years, Knowles married Texas Southern University football player Daniel Smith. On October 18, 2004, they had a son named Daniel Julez Smith.

She was in Johnson Family Vacation, starring Cedric the Entertainer and also co-starring Vanessa L. Williams, Bow Wow, Steve Harvey and Shannon Elizabeth.
