Somethin' Else
From Free net encyclopedia
Somethin' Else is a 1958 (see 1958 in music) album by jazz musician Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, regarded as a landmark hard bop album. This album featured Miles Davis. The collaboration between Adderley and Davis continued in 1959 with Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, one of the most universally praised jazz albums.
The leadership of Adderley and the presence of Art Blakey drive a more to hard-bop style than Kind of Blue. Many critics think that Somethin' Else is at the same level of quality as Kind of Blue.
