Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 121.5 km² (46.9 mi²). 120.1 km² (46.4 mi²) of it is land and 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.15% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there were 136 people, 60 households, and 36 families residing in the town. The population density was 1.1/km² (2.9/mi²). There were 1,091 housing units at an average density of 9.1/km² (23.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.53% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.47% from two or more races. 2.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 60 households out of which 26.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.7% were married couples living together, 1.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% were non-families. 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.89.
In the town the population was spread out with 21.3% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 106.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 114.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $39,688, and the median income for a family was $43,750. Males had a median income of $36,875 versus $28,125 for females. Stratton Mountain
Stratton Mountain is a resort in Bondville Vermont where the first snowboard by Jake Burton was built. In fact, Stratton was the first ski resort to allow snowboarding.
