The Strelitziaceae are a family of monocot flowering plants. The family includes three genera and seven species which are native to tropical South America, southeastern Africa, and Madagascar. The best known species is the bird-of-paradise flower Strelitzia reginae, native to South Africa but widely grown worldwide in tropical and subtropical gardens. The family also includes the travellers palm Ravenala madagascariensis.

The family is sometimes included in the banana family Musaceae. Members of both families show resemblances in appearance of the leaves and growth patterns, but at different sizes.de:Strelitziengewächse es:Strelitziaceae fr:Strelitziaceae nl:Strelitziaceae pt:Strelitziaceae zh:旅人蕉科
