Swordmaster

From Free net encyclopedia

In the role-playing game series Fire Emblem, since Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu, a swordmaster is the upgraded form of a myrmidon, which is a unit who traditionally has mediocre strength but makes up for it by having incredible speed, skill and high critical hit rates, causing lethal attacks. This class is seen as the exact opposite to a Knight, whose upgraded form is General. The Hero class is technically between Swordmaster and General classes in this sense. Recruitable units of the Myrmidon class are usually introduced as enemies who are difficult to recruit or are easily killed off in battle as enemies, hence the term Nabarl (the original Nabarl promotes to Hero, because the Swordmaster class was not introduced in Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo). Examples of the Myrmidon class include Guy from Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken and Joshua and Marisa from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Examples of the Swordmaster class include Karel and Karla from Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken and Lucia from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. In most cases, those that start from the Myrmidon class and are raised into Swordmasters turn out to be far better than those that are already upgraded into Swordmasters, as in the contrast between Guy and Karel. The Myrmidon and Swordmaster classes were started by Ayra from Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. Shanan from Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu was the first male Swordmaster and first prepromoted one. Shiva from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 was the first male character to start from the Myrmidon class and then raised into a Swordmaster. Karel is the only Swordmaster to fight in more than one Fire Emblem game. In Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Joshua and Marisa were Myrmidon-Swordmasters, and in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance , Mia and Zihark had potential to become Swordmasters, whereas Stefan and Lucia were Swordmasters when you got them.

In the fighting game Soul Calibur III A Swordmaster is a class of create-a-characters that are able to use any of the custom disciplines, but lacks it's own unique "Soul of" discipline. The class is the hardest to unlock, and requires leveling up a character of every class in "Chronicles of the Sword" to level 50 to unlock. In Chronicles of the Sword, Swordmasters have superior stat growth in all stats. Template:Rpg-cvg-stub
