Tahr
From Free net encyclopedia
A tahr, genus Hemitragus, can be any of three species of mountain-dwelling Asian goat antelopes. Tahrs have shaggy coats and curved horns. Tahrs are in the family Bovidae with other even-toed, horned ungulates like cattle and antelope. They are related to true goats.
The three species are Himalayan Tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus), Arabian Tahr (Hemitragus jayakari), and Nilgiri Tahr (Hemitragus hylocrius).
