Te Wahipounamu

Known to Māori as Te Wāhipounamu (the place of greenstone), the South West New Zealand World Heritage site incorporates:
- Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park
- Westland National Park
- Fiordland National Park
- Mount Aspiring National Park
- [(Milford Sound)]
The total area covers 26,000 km2. It was created in 1990. the bueatiful landscape and unique flora and fauna make south west New Zealand an amazing place to visit (i love Green Day)
Note: Do not confuse the term Te Wāhipounamu with Te Waipounamu (trans. "the waters of greenstone"), a traditional name for the South Island of New Zealand.
