Tender

Tender may mean:

one of several types of boat or ship, all sharing the general function of servicing another type of air or sea vessel:
- luxury yacht tender - supplies and services a private or charter luxury yacht
- seaplane tender - supplies and services seaplanes
- submarine tender - resupplies submarines
- motor torpedo boat tender - resupplies motor torpedo boats
- ship's tender - used to transport people and supplies to and from a large ship
- dive tender - another name for Diving support vessel
- lighthouse tender - used to tend lighthouses and, later, buoys
- tender offer - used to propose a buyout of a public company

Legal tender, a term used of currency
A process by which a government or company seeks quotes for a particular project (such as a construction job) to be carried out by a contracting company.
