Tetrameter

In poetry, a tetrameter is a line of four metrical feet. The particular foot, of course, can vary, as follows:

  • Anapestic tetrameter:
    • "And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea" (Byron, "The Destruction of Sennacherib")
  • Iambic tetrameter:
