The Mother of All Demos

From Free net encyclopedia

Douglas Engelbart's December 9 1968 demonstration at the Convention Center in San Francisco is often called The Mother of All Demos (attributed to Andries van Dam speaking at 1998's Engelbart's Unfinished Revolution Conference). At the Fall Joint Computer Conference, Engelbart demonstrated to the 1,000 computer professionals in attendance. The demo featured the first mouse the public had ever seen, as well as introducing the paper paradigm, video conferencing, teleconferencing, email and hypertext.
