Toiyabe Range

The Toiyabe Range is a mountain range in central Nevada in the United States. It starts in northwestern Nye County and runs approximately 190 km (120 mi) North-Northeast through eastern Lander County. The highest point is Arc Dome at 3592 m (11788 ft), which is near the southern end of the range. The range generally decreases in elevation to the north. The Toiyabe Range is the longest mountain range in the state.
The Toiyabe Range is separated from the Shoshone Mountains to the west by the Reese River Valley, although they intermingle at their southern extremes. It is separated from the Toquima Range to the east by the Big Smokey Valley.
The small city of Austin, Nevada is located on the western slope of the Toiyabe Range, about midway along the range. U.S. Route 50 runs through Austin and then crosses the range with a summit elevation of 2 281.12 m (7,484 ft).
