Travel Channel

Image:Travel Channel.gifThe Travel Channel is a cable television network that features documentaries and how-to shows related to travel and leisure around the United States and throughout the world. Programming has included shows in African animal safaris, tours of grand hotels, and visits to significant cities and towns, with recent programming putting an emphasis on how the rich travel and on "haunted" destinations, like Most Haunted. Perhaps its most popular program now is the World Poker Tour.

It is a Discovery Networks channel (owners of The Discovery Channel, TLC - Life Unscripted, Animal Planet, etc). Formerly it was a part of Landmark Communications, owner of The Weather Channel, before it was sold to Discovery Networks in 1998, though there was very little content and program sharing between the two channels under Landmark ownership.

In countries where a totally separate Travel Channel based in the UK operates, the Discovery Travel Channel operates as Discovery Travel & Living.

The current manager of publicity for the Travel Channel is Karen Sager.
