True Value Company is a hardware store retailers' cooperative marketing primarily under the name of True Value. The company was founded by John Cotter as Cotter & Company in 1948. It merged in 1997 with Servistar/Coast to Coast to form TruServ. The organization has over 6,500 members in 54 countries.
