From Free net encyclopedia
The United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works is responsible for dealing with matters related to the environment and infrastructure.

Members, 109th Congress
The Committee is chaired by Senator James Inhofe (Republican of Oklahoma). The Ranking Minority Member is Independent Senator James Jeffords of Vermont, who caucuses with the Democrats. Jeffords was the chairman from early 2001 to the elections of 2002, when the Democrats controlled the Senate; he was given the post as a reward for having switched parties, which threw control of the chamber to the Democrats.
