The site offers forums, news, encyclopedic information categorized under "Features", and image collections. Some have considered it to be the top automobile-enthusiast web site (even though its content is almost exclusively Volkswagen-related). According to Big-Boards.com, [1] VWVortex is maintaining its spot as one of the top 15 largest forums on the web.
VWVortex is owned by Vortex Media Group. The Vortex Media Group also oversees many other car enthusiast websites including The Car Lounge, Fourtitude (an Audi enthusiast website), MWerks (a BMW enthusiast website), Subdriven (a Subaru enthusiast website), Swedespeed (a Volvo enthusiast website), and TripleZoom (a Mazda enthusiast website).
This forum has several running jokes among the most popular are crubs and fents, Lumber, and Enzodude. These three themes are repeated in a high percentage of threads.
