Vecchietta

Francesco di Giorgio e di Lorenzo (c.1410 - June 6, 1480), better known as Vecchietta, was a Sienese School painter, sculptor, goldsmith and architect. A pupil of Sassetta, he assisted the Florentine Masolino in frescoes for Castiglione D'Olona. He returned to Siena to paint Ospedale di Santa Maria della Scala along with Domenico di Bartolo (1403-1445) and Pietro di Giovanni d'Ambrogio. Including the fresco on the Vision of Sant Sorore (1441).

He was noted for his sculpture in polychrome wood and bronze.
