WLTM (FM)

WLTM FM ("94.9 Lite FM") is an Atlanta FM radio station that plays mostly soft AC. Prior to Christmas, the station plays all Christmas music. This begins extremely early, on weekends in early November, and is also cut off a week early, even before midnight Christmas night. Holiday music goes all day every day starting the weekend before Thanksgiving.
This station was Peach 94.9 (callsign WPCH) for more than 30 years from the early 1970s until late 2002. However, within this period (in the early 1980s) the station's format switched from easy listening to soft AC. In December 2002, the name "Peach" was dropped, and the station is now the much more generic 94.9 Lite FM, a brand used by fellow Clear Channel Communications stations in other cities.
The station currently has Randy & Spiff as its morning show. The duo were formerly at WFOX FM "Fox 97" (now WSRV FM) and briefly WLCL FM "Cool 105.7". Lite's morning show from May 2003 until March 2005 was married couple Gene & Julie, who are now in Dallas at KVIL. The nighttime show is the syndicated Delilah.
Along with WSB-FM, this station is the primary entry point (PEP) for Emergency Alert System messages for the state of Georgia. In an emergency, the two stations receive alerts via secure networks directly from the U.S. president or governor of Georgia. All other broadcast stations and cable TV systems in metro Atlanta must monitor these two stations at all times with their EAS equipment. Alerts are then relayed across the state by other stations.
