WWF The Main Event

- For the Fingathing album, see The Main Event. The Main Event is also the nickname of professional wrestler Shawn Michaels.
The Main Event was a spin-off of the original show, WWF Saturday Night's Main Event and was a program which aired on NBC. Only the first three The Main Event episodes were shown live on NBC. The final two were shown on NBC at a later date. It mainly featured the high-card wrestlers of the WWF (now WWE).

Main Event I
- Note: The numbers are added for organizational purposes only, and were not used on the air. The show was only ever referred to as "The Main Event."
February 5, 1988 in Indianapolis
- Randy Savage defeated the WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man via countout. The Intercontinental Title did not change hands.
- André the Giant defeated the WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan. Hogan lost because an imposter referee (Earl Hebner, the identical twin brother of Dave Hebner, the assigned official) continued counting to three despite Hogan's shoulder being up. Following the match, André attempted to surrender the title to Ted DiBiase, but this was later disallowed.
- The title was declared vacant, establishing the championship tournament at WrestleMania IV.
- The WWF Tag Team Champions, Strike Force defeated The Hart Foundation.
This broadcast remains, as of March 2006, the highest rated TV show in pro wrestling history, with a 15.2 rating.

The Main Event II
February 3, 1989 in Milwaukee
- Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage defeated Akeem & The Big Boss Man. Following the match, Savage completed his heel turn (which had been slowly and subtly building over the past several months) by attacking Hogan in a backstage medical area, alleging that Hogan had "lusted" after Miss Elizabeth.
- Ted DiBiase defeated Hercules.

The Main Event III
February 23, 1990 in Detroit
- WWF Champion Hulk Hogan defeated Randy Savage. World Boxing Champ James "Buster" Douglas was the special guest referee. Note: Mike Tyson was originally scheduled to be the referee, but this changed following Douglas' knockout title win over Tyson just under two weeks before, on February 10. Tyson would eventually go on to be the guest referee at WrestleMania XIV.

- WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior beat Ted DiBiase via disqualification.
- Nikolai Volkoff beat Sgt. Slaughter via DQ.
- Mr. Perfect beat The Big Boss Man via countout.
- Rick Martel beat Tito Santana via submission.

- Hulk Hogan & Tugboat beat Earthquake & Dino Bravo.
