Image:Walt Disney Pictures Castle Logo.png Walt Disney Pictures is an American movie studio, with off-shoot studios in Japan and other sites in the United States. It is the main motion picture producing studio of The Walt Disney Company, the media conglomerate based in Burbank, California. Walt Disney Pictures is a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Studio Entertainment sector of the company. In keeping with Disney's family-friendly image, it only releases G- and PG-rated films (except for 2003's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which was rated PG-13). Walt Disney Pictures was established as a Disney division 1983, prior to which Disney films were released under the banner of the parent company, then named Walt Disney Productions.
Walt Disney Pictures also includes Walt Disney Feature Animation which in turn includes the DisneyToon Studios and most recently the Pixar Animation Studios, and is a part of the Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group. The logo is a castle.
