Template:Album infobox When Dream and Day Unite (1989) is the first studio album released by Dream Theater, a progressive metal band, on March 6th, 1989. It was recorded in the summer of 1988 at Kajem/Victory Studios in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, and is the only Dream Theater album to feature Charlie Dominici on vocals.

On March 12, 2002, a 32-bit remaster of the album was released.

On the 15th anniversary of the album, Dream Theater performed the album in its entirety in Los Angeles, California with special guests Charlie Dominici and Derek Sherinian for the encore.
