This Wikiproject, after a long period of dormancy is now in the process of getting updated and expanded. If you'd like to join in, please sign up by clicking here and adding your username to the list.- Johann Wolfgang 18:00, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Looks like we're starting to get a little attention here in our little corner. For some reason I think people are afraid to sign up for this project either because of lack of professional experience, or the dauntingness of the scope. Just because you sign up doesn't mean you have to do anything, though at the least I think input on questions and such shouldn't be to much. This is a huge project, but every sentence helps. Take a look at what is done, half done and not started, and do what you know, or even (God forbid) learn something new. (no offense anyone) Anyways, scan this project page, make sure to check out the Sub sections for additional project pages. Please add these to your watchlist. Joe I 19:49, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

World Coin Gallery is a huge website (not part of Wikipedia) containing world coin images that are available for use on Wikipedia. This is a link to the conditions and permission for using the images World Coin Gallery Permission. Mom2jandk 18:53, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Ron's WPM Homepage is another huge website (not part of Wikipedia) containing world paper money images. I do not know if the images are available for use on Wikipedia. They're useful for research either way. Ingrid 18:41, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

The coditions are on the home page, only Ron's images can be used all others need the originators permission, there name is with the pictures. Enlil Ninlil 05:15, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

I just found out that Wikipedia does not allow images with restrictions (like saying where they come from, or educational use only). So, the images listed above are not available for use on Wikipedia. See [1]. They are still helpful for research. Ingrid 00:26, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Scope

This WikiProject aims to create articles relating to all kinds of coins, tokens, bills and modern forms of money, and to standardize the content and format of data in those articles. In addition, this WikiProject aims to provide some degree of damage control for poorly written or extraneous numismatic articles.

Sub-sections

The following are sub-projects and tools within WikiProject Numismatics.

  • WikiProject Numismatics
    • /Style/ - The editors style guide.
    • /Participants/ - The editors within the project.
    • /Talk/ - For discussion and debates.
    • /Index/ - The index of numismatic articles.
    • /Sandbox/ - For testing coding and articles before taking them live.
    • To do - Guide for what needs to be done where.
    • /Categories/ - Proposed update to the category structure (eventually, a description of the category structure).
    • Recent changes - Recent changes to articles included in the project (by having {{Numismaticnotice}} on their talk pages)

Goals

  1. To create a consensus on what should be included.
  2. To create a consistent look and style for each type of page: Coins, paper money, tokens, medals and other forms of money.
