Mission
The mission of the X Prize Foundation is to create radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity. X Prize began its mission by offering the US$10 million Ansari X Prize to encourage private exploration of space. Based on the success of the Ansari X Prize, the Foundation is now widely regarded as the premiere prize management institute in the world.
Activities
The X Prize Cup
The Ansari X Prize was designed to be a catalyst for the private space tourism industry. While only one team was able to take home the Ansari X Prize it is expected that several private companies will create reusable launch vehicles over the next few years. An annual event that both introduces these companies to investors as well as showcasing the development of this industry to the public.

Centennial Challenges (Lunar Landing Analog & Suborbital Payload, Orbital, Energy, Nanotechnology, Genomics, Education, Humanitarian).
