Zabol

Zabol (زابل) (Template:Coor d) is a city in the province Sistan and Baluchistan, in Iran, on the border with both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
It had an estimated population of 128,476 in 2005.[1]
Zabol is located near the Hamoon Lake and its area is irrigated by the Hirmand River. People of Zabol are Persian-speaking Shi'ites.Some of the tribes of this area are Sayyadi, Arbabi, Khajeh dadi, Shahraki, Sanchooli, Pahlavan, Faghiri, Divaneh, Nohtani. These days, the tribes exist as surnames of the inhabitants of the area.
Zabol area is famous for its "120 day wind" (bād-e sad-o-bist-roz), a highly persistent dust storm in the summer which blows from north to south.
Zabol University is the largest university of the city, and the city has a regional airport.
The Historical Man of Zabol is Rostam with a huge power. The famous Iranian poet (Ferdousi-e-toosi)has an important book, Shahnameh (Persian: شاهنامه ), a national epic poem about this champion.
