Horstmar is a German city, located in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Steinfurt district, approx. 25 km north-west of Münster . Population 6,743 (2002), geographical location Template:Coor dm.

Its castle was built as early as the 9th century; the first mention of Horstmar is as early as the early 11th century.
