Faith Ford (born Alexis Ford on September 14, 1964 in Alexandria, Louisiana) is an American television and film actress, best known for her role as Corky Sherwood on Murphy Brown.
Born in Alexandria, Ford was raised in nearby Pineville. Ford began acting in high school plays, and was a finalist in Teen Magazine's annual model search. She moved to New York City at the age of 17 and began to model and find commercial work. Gaining her first television role on ABC's One Life to Live, her first major gig was on the NBC soap opera Another World, where she played Julia Shearer (a role previously played by Kyra Sedgwick) for several years. Ford was let go by the producers and soon moved to Hollywood, where she gained a recurring role on thirtysomething and later her role on Murphy Brown. After a nine-year run, the series ended, and Ford began to work in TV-movies. In 1998 she executive produced her own short-lived sitcom Maggie Winters.
Ford was married to Robert Nottingham from 1989-1996 and has been married to personal trainer Campion Murphy since 1998. Ford's sister Devon O'Day hosts country radio programs.
Ford currently co-stars with Kelly Ripa in Hope and Faith, where she manages a catering business. In 2004 she published her own cookbook, Cooking With Faith, and thanked her aunt and two grandmothers for teaching her how to cook.
Ford also played the mother of a family whose husband had died and who had to find a secret weapon in Disney's The Pacifier, which was released in 2005.
Ford sometimes has troubles rehearsing for an episode of "Hope & Faith" because co-star Kelly Ripa has the name Faith, which leads to Ford calling the character Kelly.
