This is about the Yorkshire village. For the location in Lord of the Rings see Nindalf.

Template:GBmap Wetwang is the name of a village in the Yorkshire Wolds in England. It is known for Iron Age chariot burial cemetery and its black swans.

It is recorded in the Domesday Book as Wetuuangha. This probably comes from the Old Norse vaett-vangr, 'field for the trial of a legal action'.

Its name often attracts mirth, this even came from the late Richard Whiteley of the Channel 4 quiz show Countdown, who held the honorary title Mayor of Wetwang.

In the book The Meaning of Liff by Douglas Adams and John Lloyd, the word Wetwang is defined jokingly as "a moist penis".
