Ibrahim Muteferrika (1674-1742) ran the first official press of the Ottoman Empire, publishing its first book in 1729. Born in Kolozsvár, Transylvania (present-day Cluj-Napoca, Romania), he was a Hungarian Unitarian who converted to Islam. His original Hungarian name is unknown.
