Hadsund is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 170 km², and has a total population of 10,918 (2005). Its mayor is Karl Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party.

The main town and site of its municipal council is the town of Hadsund.

Neighboring municipalities are Sejlflod and Skørping to the north, Arden to the west, and Mariager to the south. Mariager municipality is separated from Hadsund municipality by the waters of Mariager Fjord. The two municipalities are connected by a bridge between the town of Sønder Hadsund on the southern shore in Mariager municipality, and the town of Hadsund on the northern shore.

By January 1, 2007 Hadsund municipality will cease to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It will be merged with existing Arden, Hobro, and Mariager municipalities to form the new Mariagerfjord municipality. This will create a municipality with an area of 769 km² and a total population of 43,049 (2005). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Nordjylland ("North Jutland Region").
