Shattered Glass (2003) is a film about infamous journalist Stephen Glass's 1998 fall from grace at The New Republic magazine. The film is based on detailed research and interviews with the major players (some scenes, based on recordings, are almost verbatim). The film stars Hayden Christensen as Stephen Glass, Peter Sarsgaard as editor Chuck Lane, Chloë Sevigny and Melanie Lynskey as female co-workers of Glass's, Hank Azaria as former editor Michael Kelly, and Steve Zahn as Adam Penenberg, the Forbes Digital Tool reporter who finally uncovered Glass's deceptions.
According to Box Office Mojo.com, this movie, which opened in 217 theaters, had an "opening weekend" gross of $77,540. This led to a "domestic total gross" of $2,220,008 (with an "overseas gross" of $2,944,752) [1].
