Edward Mooney (1882 - October 25 1958) was a U.S. cardinal, elevated to that position in 1946. He was Bishop of Rochester NY from August 1933 - May 1937. He served as the Archbishop of Detroit between 1937 and 1958. The high school Cardinal Mooney in Youngstown, Ohio is named after him.
