Image:US201.png U.S. Route 201 is a spur of U.S. Route 1. US 201 begins in Brunswick, Maine. It follows the Kennebec River until Augusta, when it pulls away from the city and runs into the north woods. Route 201 follows the Kennebec until Sandy Bay Township, where it enters Quebec, Canada. For those who wish to follow this highway, there is an alternate route, U.S. Route 201A, running thorough the towns of Madison, Maine and Norrigwock
Historical note: US 201 used to be New England Interstate Route 20 in the 1920s.
