Poperinge is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders, at Template:Coor dm. The municipality comprises the city of Poperinge proper and the towns of Krombeke, Proven, Reningelst, Roesbrugge-Haringe and Watou. On January 1 2005 Poperinge had a total population of 19,512. The total area is 119.33 km² which gives a population density of 163.51 inhabitants per km².
During World War I, the charity Toc H was founded at Talbot House in Poperinge.
Poperinge is the birthplace of Dirk Frimout, Belgium's first astronaut.
