George Curry (Governor of New Mexico Territory)

George Curry was a U.S. military officer and politician. During the Spanish American War he served in Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders. He did not see action in Cuba, but did participate in the fighting in the Philippines.

He later served as the Governor of New Mexico Territory. Curry County, New Mexico is named in his honor.
