• Chrysler Building in New York, designed by William van Alen, succeeds the Bank of Manhattan Trust Building as the tallest building in the world.
• Empire State Building in New York, designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harlon Associates overtakes the Chrysler Building as the tallest building in the world.
• Karl-Marx-Hof in Vienna designed by Karl Ehn
• The Terminal Tower complex in Cleveland, designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst, and White is completed.
