Baron Teviot

From Free net encyclopedia

Baron Teviot, of Burghclere in the County of Southampton, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1940 for Charles Iain Kerr, who had previously represented Montrose in the House of Commons and later served as Chairman of the Liberal National Party. Kerr was a grandson of Lord Charles Lennox Kerr, fourth son of William Kerr, 6th Marquess of Lothian. Consequently, the present holder of the Barony is also in remainder to the Marquessate of Lothian and its subsidiary titles.
