Chicago Express

Chicago Express was a regional airline formerly based at Midway Airport, Chicago, Illinois, USA. It operated regional feeder services under the name ATA Connection. Chicago Express ceased all operations at the end of March 2005. The airline was dissolved after the parent company's bankruptcy.

History
The airline was established in 1993 and started operations in August 1993. On 1 June 1999, Chicago Express became a wholly owned subsidiary of Amtran, now known as ATA Holdings. Following the bankruptcy of parent company ATA Holdings, which also owns ATA Airlines, a decision was made to close Chicago Express with effect from 28 March 2005. The airline was purchased and subsequently dissolved.

Chicago Express operated services to the following domestic scheduled destinations (at January 2005): Chicago, Evansville, Flint, Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and South Bend.

Fleet
Having previously operated a fleet of BAe Jetstream 31 aircraft, at the time Chicago Express ceased operations it's fleet consisted of 17 Saab 340B aircraft.
